President Al-Bashir Returns Home after Participation in African Summit in Addis Ababa - Rawan For Media Artistic and Production
He
was received upon return at Khartoum Airport by the First Vice -
President, Lt. Gen. Bakri Hassan Salih, and a number of ministers.
In
a press statement following return of the President Al-Bashir and the
accompanying delegation, the Foreign Minister, Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour,
described the summit as a distinguished one and affirmed the unity of
the African decision.
He said that the recent African summit proved that Africa is moving on the correct track.
He
said that the summit has discussed a number of issues and adopted
clear-cut resolutions; top of them was its call on the Security Council
to cancel its decision to refer the issue of Sudan President to the
International Criminal Court (ICC) and also to cancel the call for trial
of the Kenyan Vice - President.
Prof.
Ghandour said that the African summit warned that the coming African
Summit will issue a decision on collective withdrawal from the ICC if
the Security Council did not respond to the African demands.
On
the American unilateral sanctions against Sudan, Prof. Ghandour said
that the African Summit stipulated that the African summit shall not
abide the American blockade.
He
said that President Al-Bashir has met on the side-lines of the African
summit with the Ethiopian Prime Minister, the Egyptian President, the
President of Guinea, the President of Zambia and the President of
Burkina Faso.
Prof.
Ghandour added that he met in Addis Ababa with a number of his African
counterparts along with ministers of other countries and deputy Chairman
of the European Union.
