Russia Assists Sudan in Launching Satellite - Rawan For Media Artistic and Production

Sudan will launch a new satellite with the assistance of Russian
technology which will serve to improve Radio, TV, the survey of Sudan
natural resources and borders. This was disclosed by the Russian
Ambassador in Sudan H.E. Mr. Mirgayas Shirinskiy in an interview with
Sudan Vision.

Shirinskiy said that a Russian gold mining company will produce this year between 1.5 to 1.8 tons of gold this year.

Russia
is strongly supporting the National Dialogue Initiative, the DDPD and
the normalization of relation between Sudan and South Sudan, commending
the Sudanese President decision to open the borders with South Sudan and
the treatment of Southern Sudanese in Sudan as citizens not refugees.

He
stressed on the daily improvements in the bilateral relations between
the two countries, pointing out that Russia participates in initiatives
concerning Sudan only upon the request of the Sudanese government
because this in the first place an internal political issue.

The
Ambassador added that both Sudan and Russia need each other in the
international arena, especially in the United Nations whether in the
General Assembly or the Security Council. He also revealed to Sudan
Vision that there now 8 Sudanese diplomats attending courses in Moscow
and will be followed by another 14 this year.

"I
personally think what will be very important and useful to import meat
from Sudan", he said on the Russian imports of Sudanese products to
Russia. He added that there are some formalities and bureaucratic
difficulties, because the production of meat and beef in Sudan is not
certified according to international standards.

"Russian
companies which want to import Sudanese meat have to come here and do
this work by themselves to certify this kind of production, considering
that there are specific standards which are to be met. They are actually
discussing this kind of preparations now" he said.

The
Ambassador also expressed his pleasure for the launching of Russian
language corners in the University of Khartoum and the Bahri University
in Khartoum North.

“There
are discussions at present between Russia and Sudan to address the
challenge of economic sanctions imposed by the West on both countries to
promote their economic and trade relations.” Shiromskiy said.
