Agreement for Implementation of Reintegration Projects in S. Darfur - Rawan For Media Artistic and Production




The Commission of Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR)
has signed an agreement, with a number of national organisations for the
implementation of reintegration projects in South Darfur, funded by the
Allocation and Monitoring Revenue Commission.

DDR
Commissioner-General, Lieutenant General Salah Awad said the agreements
are for the implementation of the second phase of reintegration
projects in South Darfur as part of DDR projects in the area.

He
stressed the second phase aims to help the integration of 200
demobilised people in West and Central Darfur, and 500 in South Darfur.

Awad
said this phase will be followed by others in North and West Darfur,
with funding from the Darfur Reconstruction Fund, for a number of 600
displaced. The work will be completed before the end of the year.

For
her part, Secretary General of Revenues Allocation and Monitoring
Commission, Amna Suleiman said the commission has allocated some
resources to finance the disarmament projects.
