Joint Committee to Deal with Attacks on Sudanese in Egypt Incidents - Rawan For Media Artistic and Production
A
spokesperson informed the media that the task of the committee is to
tackle the situations of citizens in Egypt and to review the recent
attacks on Sudanese citizens, in an attempt to prevent them from
reoccurring.
This
came yesterday when Under Secretary Abdel Gani Al Naiem, met the
Egyptian Ambassador to Khartoum Osam Shaltout, who confirmed that his
country is ready to solve the discussed issues and exert efforts to
promote bilateral relations.
Meanwhile,
Foreign Minister, Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour received yesterday a telephone
call for his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shukri during which they
discussed the situations of Sudanese in Egypt after the recent
incidents.

Minister at the Foreign Ministry, Dr. Obeidallah Mohammed said in press
statements, yesterday that the Sudanese and Egyptian officials affirmed
the keenness to overcome the issue to preserve the rights of the
affected Sudanese in the framework of the distinguished relations
between the two countries.
It
is to be noted that Sudanese citizens in Egypt were exposed to violence
from Egyptian security forces, a move that has led to some Sudanese
people demanding a breaking of relations. The Minister of Foreign
Affairs Ibrahim Ghandour was summoned by Parliament on Monday to discuss
the events, with many Sudanese citizens now in prison abroad or bereft
of possessions and financial means.

Secretary General Ban Ki-moon asked the Egyptian government to
investigate the shooting of the 6 Sudanese citizens in Egypt recently,
as they attempted to cross the border into Israel.
