Minister of Petroleum Calls for Investment at Oil and Gas in Sudan - Rawan For Media Artistic and Production



The
Minister of Petroleum and Gas, Dr. Mohamed Zayed, has called for
investment in Sudan at the oil and gas fields, casting light on the
great resources of Sudan in these fields.

Addressing
the conference of the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD)
on Oil, Gas Mining Monday evening at the Friendship Hall, Dr. Zayed has
affirmed his ministry's keenness to formulate policies and laws that are
encouraging to investors.

He affirmed the pledge of his ministry to remove any obstacle that faces the investors.

The
minister said that the Sudanese oil sector has absorbed 7000 employees
of different specialization, adding that the rate of Sudanization of the
petroleum establishments has exceeded 90% and that the surplus was
exported to neighbouring countries.

He referred to the cooperation between the Ministry of Petroleum and Norway in the field of technical and technological studies.

He said that the American embargo on Sudan has prevented the country from obtaining technology.

He
said that approval of the international organization to convocation of
the conference in Khartoum was affirmation to the qualification of Sudan
and its experiences in the petroleum field which exceeds more than 50
years.
