Minister of International Cooperation meets Head EU mission in Sudan - Rawan For Media Artistic and Production
Minister
of International Cooperation Dr. Kamal Hassan Ali reviewed, during a
meeting at his office Thursday with the Head of Delegation of the
European Union (EU) to Sudan Tomas Ulicny, issues of mutual interest
including EU support for the rural development projects, food security
and other projects in Sudan.
The
Minister of International Cooperation affirmed further cooperation
between Sudan and the European Union, calling for EU to support Sudan's
efforts to join the World Trade Organization.
The
minister also gave comprehensive explanation on the role and functions
of his ministry in attracting foreign aid in full coordination with the
relevant ministries, praising the assistances EU has been providing to
Sudan, adding that the ministry will hold workshops on EU projects and
the funding trends.
For
his part, Ambassador Ulicny stressed continuity of EU support for Sudan
in the framework of regional resources in health, education and rural
development, as well as the tendency of the European Union to support
the effects of migration, particularly in eastern Sudan.
Ulicny
pointed out that the European Union allocated additional funds
estimated at 100 million Euros for Sudan to finance projects in the next
phase in various fields including sustainable rural development,
health, education and capacity building.
