 Preparations Completed for Visit of Vice President to Moscow - Rawan For Media Artistic and Production

Preparations
were completed for the visit of the Vice – President of the Republic,
Hassabo Mohamed Abdul-Rahman, to the Russian capital, Moscow, Sunday as
the first official visit to be paid to Moscow by a senior Sudanese
official during the past 10 years.


In
a press statement at Sudan Embassy to Moscow Saturday, the Minister of
Mining, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Saddiq Al-Karouri, has described the proposed
visit of the Vice – President to Moscow as a historical and important
one for consolidating the Sudanese – Russian relations and realizing
political, economic and trade integration between the two countries.


He
said that agreement was reached with the Russian side to realize
maximum benefit for the two countries from the visit of the Vice –
President of the Republic.


Dr.
Al-Karouri said that the Vice – President's visit comes after a
successful visit paid to Moscow by the Foreign Minister in last
September and the recent participation of the Speaker of the National
Assembly at meetings of the International Parliamentary Union in the
Russian capital.


He
indicated that the Vice – President's visit to Moscow is culmination of
activities and exchange of visits between officials of the two
countries.


Dr.
Al-Karouri said that the Russian side has welcomed the visit of the
Vice – President and regarded it as one which affirms the keenness of
Sudan for enhancing the bilateral relations.


The
Minister of Mining stated that a number of Russian companies have
expressed their desire to invest in Sudan, announcing that the Vice –
President's visit will witness the signing of a number of agreements and
memos of understanding between the Sudanese and the Russian sides in
the fields of oil, energy, health, education, mining and railways
fields.


Meanwhile,
Sudan Ambassador to Moscow, Nadir Yousif, said that the political,
economic and cultural relations between Sudan and Russia are progressing
seriously and speedily.


He
said that the program for the visit of the Vice – President includes
meetings with the Russian private sector to inform about the investment
opportunities in Sudan, explaining that the Vice – President will hold
three meetings with the Russian businessmen and a number of companies.


It
is to be recalled that the Russian News Agency has interviewed the
Minister of Mining who highlighted on the proposed visit of the Vice –
President to Moscow and the fields of cooperation between Sudan and
Russia that will be discussed during his visit.
