Meetings on Renaissance Dam concluded, new round of talks determined to be on December 27 in Khartoum - Rawan For Media Artistic and Production

The
meeting on the Renaissance Dam was concluded Saturday at the Friendship
Hall after lengthy consultations between the Ministers of Foreign
Affairs and Water and Irrigation in each of Sudan, Ethiopia and Egypt.

The
Minister of Foreign Affairs Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour announced, in the
final communiqué, resumption of meetings in Khartoum later this month to
discuss issues of the agenda at the level of Foreign and Water
Ministers and technical teams in the three countries, stressing that the
early start of the meeting this morning confirms the seriousness of the
parties and their desire to reach an agreement, explaining that the
discussion of implementation of the principles took place in atmosphere
of confidence and cooperation.

For
his part, the Minister of Water Resources, Irrigation and Electricity
Muataz Musa said that the meeting discussed the agenda set forward,
adding that the discussions will continue on 27th-28th of the current
month in Khartoum, expecting that the next meeting to witness a positive
step in the negotiations between the three countries.
