A Lecture on Korean Culture in Khartoum - Rawan For Media Artistic and Production

Counselor
and Deputy Chief of Mission for the Korean Embassy to Sudan, Mr.
Sunghoon Kim, delivered on Saturday Dec. 19th a lecture on Korean
culture at the Korean Corner in the Al Zaiem Azhari University.
The
lecture was attended by around 50 university students interested in
Korean language and culture. The activity also included a display of a
short introductory film about Korea, such as information about the
history, economy, politics and culture, as well as a short video clip of
the night view of Seoul.

During
the event some Korean food was also provided to the participants. At
the end of the lecture, Mr. Kim organised a quiz event for the
participants, where six prizes were handed over to the winners. The
participants expressed a keen interest in Korean culture, calling on the
Korean Embassy to organise similar activities in the future.

Established
in 2015, the Korea Corner was built on the ground floor of the Center
of Information Technology and Linguistics of the Al Zaiem Al Azhari
University, (AAU-ITLC) in Khartoum, to introduce, show, teach, and
display Korean culture.

The ITLC was built in 2007 with a grant from the Korean International
Cooperation Agency (KOICA) which is the development aid agency of the
Republic of Korea.

The
Corner, which is run by AAU-ITLC, under the support of the Korean
Embassy in Khartoum, serves as a second home to those interested in
Korean culture and language and is available for both informal and
formal gatherings. The Corner also houses a computer room and Korean
studies library, which has books and magazines of Korean interest.
