National Assembly Approves General Budget Project for Year 2016 - Rawan For Media Artistic and Production



The
National Assembly approved in its sitting Monday, chaired by the
Speaker Prof. Ibrahim Ahmed Omer, the general budget for the year 2016
and the accompanying laws, in presence of the Minister of Finance,
Badr-Eddin Mahmoud, a number of ministers and the directors of the
economic institutions.

Chairman
of the assembly's committee for studying the general budget project,
Prof. Ahmed Magzoub, affirmed the budget is concerned with the citizens'
living conditions as a priority, indicating that the budget has
maintained the prices of wheat, fuel and electricity.

He
said that the new budget has assigned sufficient funds to purchase the
strategic sorghum reserves, aims for realizing economic stability and
gave concern to the vulnerable categories and included the increasing of
salaries and pensions, adding that the budget also gave concern to the
university lecturers and stability of education and education research
as well as the improvement of the civil service and the institutional
reform.

Prof.
Magzoub indicated that the general budget for the year 2016 is
encouraging to production, investment and the national and foreign
private sectors, providing incentives to manufacturers and the
expatriates remittances and the enhancement of agriculture and
agricultural research and technology, cereals diversity, concentration
on cotton, edible oil, rehabilitation of the railways, meat
manufacturing.

The
Minister of Finance said that the general budget project has included
establishment of large-size power stations, allowing the importation of
fuel and gas by the private sector and given concern to the
micro-finance.

He
said that the budget aims for realizing economic stability, increasing
the GDP and reducing the inflation and the expenditure.
