Al Bashir Urges Ministers of Sudan, Egypt and Ethiopia to Settle Disputes on Renaissance Dam - Rawan For Media Artistic and Production

The
President of the Republic Omer Al Bashir has advised the Ministers of
Sudan, Egypt and Ethiopia to come to a compromise during their two- day
meeting to review the process of the Renaissance Dam, a topic that has
incited argument among the three countries.

This
came while the Ethiopian Foreign Minister was received by the President
yesterday at the Republican Palace. The Minister stated to media that
they reviewed issues of common interests between Sudan and his country
and the ongoing meeting on the Renaissance Dam. He noted that “I briefed
the President on the discussion of the tripartite meeting and how to
remove obstacles”.

The Minister appreciated the contribution of Al Bashir in bridging the gap between Egypt and Ethiopia on disputed issues.

It is to be noted that this is the second meeting within the month on the topic.

Meanwhile
the Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs Obeidallah Mohamed received an
Egyptian delegation visiting Sudan which included parliament members,
singers, students and businessmen. Obeidallah enlightened the delegation
on the national dialogue and situations in Darfur, Blue Nile and South
Kordofan, saying that refugees and IDPs were returned to their villages
due to the current stability.

For
his part, the head of the Egyptian delegation Ahmed Urab promised that
the parliament in his country will play a role in promoting relations
between the two peoples.
