Next Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia Meeting to be in Ethiopia - Rawan For Media Artistic and Production
The
next meeting of Foreign and Irrigation Ministers from Sudan, Egypt, and
Ethiopia will be held in Addis Ababa soon, the Ethiopian Foreign
Minister Tedros Adhanom told a joint press conference held with the
Ethiopian Irrigation Minister on Tuesday evening.
The
three countries reached an agreement about the consulting firms that
will conduct studies on the Renaissance Dam, added Adhanom.
He announced the two companies are French and are scheduled to begin work early in February 2016.
The
Ethiopian Energy and Water Minister Mutuma Mikasa revealed
disagreements between the three countries on the consulting firms halted
talks about the Renaissance Dam for more than nine months.
Mikasa denied media reports suggesting Ethiopia was asked by Egypt to stop work on the dam.
"These reports are not true. Egypt has not asked us to halt work on the project," the Ethiopian Minister insisted.
