CBOS Directs Banks to Allocate 10% of Export Revenues for Medicine Importation - Rawan For Media Artistic and Production
Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS) affirmed that since 2013 the bank directed
the banks to allocate 10% of the export revenues to cover the
requirements of medicine companies for importation purposes.
CBOS
spokesperson, Hazim Abdul Gadir Ahmed said that there is a mechanism to
deal with the issue and cover the requisitions received by the banks,
adding that the said mechanism includes in its membership representative
from Federal Health Ministry, Drugs’ Importation Room, Ecumenical
Security, and the CBOS.
He
affirmed that the SBOS will provide all the foreign currency to the
Public Medical Supply Corporation to import all the necessary medicines.
On
medicine manufacturing, he said that in coordination with Industrial
Development Bank the CBOS will provide banking facilitation to enable
for covering the importation of the national factories requirements from
raw materials.
