Amtar Project Cultivates 5 Thousand Acres of Wheat This Season - Rawan For Media Artistic and Production




The Administration of Amtar Agricultural Project at the northern state
has disclosed that the area earmarked for investment have amounted to
130thousand acres at a total cost of US$ 120 million.

Manager
of logistical support administration at the project Mohamed Hussein Abu
Seif said 25% of this has been cultivated by wheat and 75% of the rest
area is cultivated with fodders which are exported to the State of the
United Arab Emirates.

He
said the irrigation system of the project is from the Nubian Basin
through artificial rain irrigation system which is the second experiment
in the world after that of South Africa

He
noted that the project is a partnership between Sudan government and
Emirati investors at a percentage of 40% to the government of Sudan and
60% to the partners of this project.
