Wali (governor) of West Darfur Inaugurates First Stage of Demobilization - Rawan For Media Artistic and Production
He
said that the demobilized group will contribute to realization of peace
and peaceful co-existence between the components of the society in West
Darfur State.
Meanwhile,
the Commissioner for Disarmament, Demobilization and Re-Integration in
the state, Issa Adam Baraka, said that the commission has demobilized
1702 fighters out of 1800 fighters, 204 females.
He said that the demobilized forces belong to seven armed movements, the People's Defence Forces and the Armed Forces.
He
said that the demobilized forces will be given a productive projects
within the micro finance which are supported by Darfur Regional
Authority, the UNAMID mission, the World Food Program (WFP) and the UN
Development Fund (UNDP). He appreciated the efforts of the donors for
boosting the development and stability in West Darfur State.
