Hassabo Calls for Measures to Combat Gold Smuggling - Rawan For Media Artistic and Production
Vice - President of the Republic, Hassabo Mohamed Abdul-Rahman, has
stressed the necessity of combating the smuggling of gold through
coordination between the concerned authorities toward increasing the
gold production.
This
came during his meeting Sunday in his office at the Republican Palace
with the Minister of Mining, Ahmed Mohamed Saddiq Al-Karrouri.
In
a press statement after the meeting, Al-Karrouri said that the meeting
discussed issues pertinent to legalizing and organizing the traditional
mining in cooperation with the states and partners.
He said that the meeting also reviewed means of increasing the gold production which increased in the past year to 82 tons.
The
minister said that the meeting has discussed the agreement reached by
the joint Sudanese - Russian ministerial committee and the plan of the
Ministry of Mining for the year 2016.
