President Al-Bashir back home after participation in India-Africa Summit - Rawan For Media Artistic and
President
of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir returned home Saturday
evening from India after taking part in Third India-Africa Summit with
participation with a number of African Presidents and Heads of State and
Government which took place in New Delhi during October 26-30.
Foreign
Minister, Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour said in press statements at Khartoum
Air Port, that the Summit asserted firmness of African-Indian relations
and necessity of boosting them in a way that returns with benefit for
all sides.
He
added that President Al-Bashir delivered Sudan address before the
Summit in which he tackled the eternal ties with India , wide scope of
cooperation and importance of reform of UN and the security Council.
Ghandour
further added that President Al-Bashir held meetings at the sidelines
of the Summit, with President of South African Republic, Jacob Zuma and
Ethiopian Prime Minister, Hailemariam Desalegn and discussed a number of
issues at bilateral and regional levels, South Sudan file and issue s
of Nile waters.
He
described the visit as successful and achieved its goals and concluded
by meeting between President Al-Bashir and Indian Premier where they
talked about bilateral relations and ways of boosting them in all
fields, disclosing that President Al-Bashir has extended invitation to
Prime Minister of India to visit Sudan.
The
Foreign Minister pointed out that agreement on electricity project was
signed during the visit in addition to a number of contracts in various
fields, expecting that the balance of trade between two countries will
increase during the coming period.
