Sudan and Saudi Arabia Sign Agreements on Agriculture, Irrigation and Electricity - Rawan For Media Artistic
Khartoum-
Riyadh- President of the Republic Omer Al Bashir and the Custodian of
the Two Holy Mosques have witnessed the signing of three agreements
between Khartoum and Riyadh of these, the first one is a project of
framework deal on the emergency project for tackling the shortage of
electricity in the Red Sea Power Station with a capacity of 1000
megawatt along with the transmission line, while the second agreement is
related with a project of framework agreement for ending thirst in the
Sudanese rural areas and providing drinking water for the period from
2015to 2020 and the third agreement is a project agreement towards
financing dam of Kajabar.
The
three agreements which were concluded between the Saudi Ministry of
Finance represented by the Saudi Fund for Development and Sudan’s
Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning were signed by the Saudi
Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim Abdulaziz Al Asaf and the Sudanese
Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Badr Addeen Mahmoud Abbas.
They
have also witnessed the signing of a fourth agreement on partnership in
agricultural investment between the Ministry of Agriculture in Saudi
Arabia and the Ministry of Water Resources and Electricity in Sudan in
the project of Atbara Upstream Agricultural Project signed by the Saudi
Agriculture Minister Engineer Abdulrahaman Bin Abdulmuhsin and for the
Sudanese side the agreement was signed by The Minister of Water
Resources and Electricity Mutaz Musa Salim.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz has previously held official in talks with President Al Bashir.
The
meeting reviewed the bilateral relations, spheres of cooperation
between the two sisterly countries, and means for boosting them along
with the developments of conditions in the region.
President
Al Bashir ended the short visit to Saudi Arabia accompanied by a number
of senior officials of the Sudanese government.
